Each bat is individually made "in house" by Reid the owner of Heart of Vermont. The raw, freshly shorn wool has been washed in a mild soap and water bath. It is then shook many times to remove additional organic matter, fluffed and then "combed" on the carding machine, turning into a cloud soft bat of Pure Wool. The natural properties of wool allow air to circulate, thus keeping you warmer in winter and cooler in summer. We use it in our futons, pillows and comforters. It is light and yet warm!
